The top 100 London primary schools ranked by the percentage of pupils meeting the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths (KS2 RWM). Data sourced from DfE performance tables. National average is approximately 65%.
What is a good KS2 score for a London primary school?
The national average for KS2 Reading, Writing and Maths (RWM combined) is approximately 65%. A London primary school scoring 75% or above is performing well above the national average. The top-performing London primaries typically score 85–100% in RWM expected standard.
Are the best KS2 schools always Outstanding?
Not always. KS2 attainment and Ofsted ratings measure different things. A school can score highly in KS2 (high attainment) while being rated Good by Ofsted, and vice versa. Ofsted also considers progress scores — how much pupils improve — not just raw attainment.
How are KS2 results calculated?
KS2 results are based on SATs tests taken by Year 6 pupils (aged 10–11) at the end of primary school. The headline measure is the percentage of pupils reaching the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined (RWM). There is also a higher standard measure for pupils working above the expected level.
Do selective or faith schools have better KS2 results?
Selective and some faith schools can appear higher in KS2 rankings because they admit pupils from higher-attaining cohorts. KS2 progress scores — which compare each pupil's results to similar pupils nationally — are a fairer measure of what the school itself adds.
Methodology
Rankings based on the percentage of pupils achieving the expected standard in Reading, Writing and Maths combined (KS2 RWM) from DfE school performance tables. Only schools with published KS2 data are included. Data is updated annually following DfE publication. Schools with fewer than 10 eligible pupils may be suppressed in official data. KS2 attainment reflects the intake as well as teaching quality — see progress scores for a fairer comparison.
